Libya: Small Statue of Isis

1st or 2nd century AD, sandstone: height 67 cm, width 26 cm. Made in the local Libyan style, this figure has distinctive locks seen on later Ptolemaic portraits and used for Roman representations of Isis. She holds a tray, and wears a dress belted at the waist. Stolen from Martuba, al Jabal al Akhdar.
