Cyrene: female head once inserted into a statue

Female head probably once inserted into a statue; turns towards her right. 1st century AD, Roman. Marble, height 39.5 cm, width of whole 21 cm, width at base 18.1 cm. Left side of nose broken.

Interpol Folder: 2000/31561-1.4

Reported returned after first theft and now reported as having been stolen again post 2011.

Excavated at the sanctuary of Demeter and Persephone outside Cyrene, Libya.
